Poems of Thobile Maso

Unashamed

A poem by Thobile Maso©2008 Tobile Maso

These people are unashamed
These people have no respect
These people are beefing up their pockets
They boast of nationality, yet they kill humanity

These people are unashamed!

Many people are drowned in the sea of poverty
Many people are drowned in the sea of misery
Many people are drowned in the sea of homeless
Many people are drowned in the sea of jobless

Tell me! What kind of people are these?

You see them in New York, look at them
You see them in Hawaii, not ashamed
You see them in Sun City, with their big bellies
You see them in Mauritius, resting in the sun

They swim in the pool of milk and honey!

Whilst, many people are drowned in the sea of poverty
In the sea of misery
In the sea of homeless
In the sea of jobless

For sure!

You are not guilty fighting for your rights
You are not guilty fighting suppression
You are not guilty fighting exploitation
You are not guilty fighting corruption

Wake up! no more sleeping now
Wake up! time is going
Tell me! What kind of people are these?

They are sent to Nineveh, they went to Talashishi
They are sent East, they went West
They are sent to parliament, they sell public properties
They are told to bring economy, they bring it to themselves

What kind of people are these!

These people are dangerous
These people have no respect
Gaa! These people are unashamed
Sies! We detest them
