Paulie started working down the factory

One day the boss sidled up so surreal
said “Paulie come and sit for a while
Got a deal to make you smile
All you got to do is rat on the rank and file
Forget Union Solidarity
Solidarity”

But he said

Sorry boss I'm in the union
Everybody here is in the union
Everybody knows I'll follow through with it
won't let 'em down 'cause I'm true to it

Won't rat on my mates in the union
All I have would now be in ruin
I'm glad that I'm in the union
I'm not a dog but a human

The boss said” Paulie now that won't do
I think you got a real bad attitude
You're really not pulling your weight around here
And you won't get support from your working peers

But the factory boys walked off the site
The minute they heard of young Paulie's plight
The boss sent 'em letters that were full of threats
Got court orders against the rest
But the workers just stood fast and tall
And in the end the boss had nothing but to fall
to union solidarity
Solidarity
