Lunch and Breaks

A poem by David G. Hurlburt©David G. Hurlburt 2005

The mussel beach bully is stealing my lunch.
Is he paying back big business? Just a hunch!
He is terminating my breaks and lunch time,
Because he is the governor is it not a crime?

He canÅt just steal it from us with out a fight,
Millions of workers will not give up this right!
It is not just the time to eat but the time to rest.
It is the time we need as humans to work at our best.

Some of us shop for our needs in the area we are working.
Is economic disaster for the neighborhood businesses lurking?
Our society must protect the un-educated and the weak,
From the beach bully governor and the corporate sneak.
