Change happens

A Poem by Jim Sharp©Jim Sharp 2007

poor owd shuffling winston john
went to the wars wiv no way back

poor owd stumbling winston john

poor owd shuffling winston john
flew to washington where a shrub nuked him

poor owd stumbling winston john

poor owd shuffling winston john
lost his way on Kyoto’s protocol devoid of other ways

poor owd stumbling winston john

poor owd shuffling winston john
he tries to bathe in an empty dam how about that!

poor owd stumbling winston john

poor owd shuffling winston john
he’s going to a rickety election unsure of himself

poor owd stumbling winston john

poor owd shuffling winston john
he’s going to the g.g. frantic to find a way back

poor owd stumbling winston john

Many thanks to Jim Sharp for permission to add this poem to the Union Songs collection.

Jim writes:
"as we wud expect, there's lots of poems & song emanating out of the i.r. stuff. i was doodling over my own aging problems i.e. shuffling as one walks & stumblings as one tries to find words. so watching j.w.h. taking a notable determination over recent times. [don't spead it around that i've any empathy for the class enemy] anyway the chorus line from the anti-ww1 song came to mind "shuffling jack" as it does with myself when i'm our walking these days & this is what i came up with, friends like it, but not me, & yet, shud somebody feel it as possibilties they welcome to run with it & do with it whatever? when i was at school in the 40's their were still a few shuffling jack's still around our town."
